A tactical rucksack is an indispensable thing for camping and combat missions. But in order for the backpack to be a real helper and not a burden, it must be properly assembled and packed. It is necessary to start initially with the selection of the required equipment.

What to pack in your tactical rucksack

In order to maximise the simplicity of the correct process of packing a tactical backpack, it is necessary to understand all the subtleties. So, many compare this process with the construction of a pyramid. At the bottom should be located at the bottom of the heaviest and bulky attributes, in the middle - elements of medium gravity, and on top - the lightest. This approach has received a lot of positive feedback from people who often go on long raids.

When packing, you should utilise not only the interior space but also the compartments on the outside. In most cases, a molle is used to secure items that need to be quickly accessed on the move. Such items include lightweight torches, radios or tactical knives.

Packing the bottom of your rucksack

The lower part of the tactical backpack is filled with items that are only needed at the end of the journey. At the bottom you can put an extra set of clothes, hygiene items, a variety of heavy equipment and tools. These should be distributed in such a way that the load is evenly distributed.

Packing the middle

In the middle of the inner compartment, you can stow everything you may need for an overnight stay or rest. In addition, you should put a water supply, a sunshade, food, and items that are not often needed on the road.

What to pack on top of your tactical rucksack

The upper part is designed to accommodate the following items:

  • navigation equipment;
  • Replacement socks (it is better to take several pairs);
  • items intended for self-defence;
  • tablets that can be used to purify water.

If the backpack is a great fit with the molle, you can use it too. This will allow you to evenly distribute certain things, awning and protection equipment, holster, other things, which will allow you to prepare for a variety of situations.

How to pack a survival backpack

A survival backpack differs in composition from a tactical backpack. It includes everything you might need when you are away from people. When packing a survival backpack, you should pack enough for 72 hours or more.

In order to ensure that there are no difficulties on the way, you need to prepare a tent, self-defence equipment, a set of food and water, as well as all those items that are part of the tactical backpack.

The process of stowing things in a survival backpack is pretty much the same as when filling a tactical backpack. This will allow the backpack to be packed correctly. This approach has a positive effect on comfort.

How to organise your tactical rucksack

The more properly organised a tactical backpack or bag is, the more useful and usable it will be. It will also increase comfort as well. Tactical backpacks include a large number of pockets and compartments. To make proper use of all the specialised main compartments, you need to be careful and keep some guidelines in mind.

  • In order to distribute the load evenly, heavy items should be packed at the bottom. This is especially important when using a large tactical backpack. This makes it easy to place, for example, charging stations or other useful items.
  • Separate compartments should be provided for defence equipment and weapons. This will allow quick access to them. The belt can also be used for this purpose.
  • At different levels, you need to place snacks that allow you to regenerate your energy reserves.
  • If your rucksack will contain a change of clothes, you should use special bags, ponchos or netting to pack them. This will help to keep things safe.

If your tactical backpack or bag has a small number of pockets and compartments, polythene bags can be used for packing. The first aid kit should be placed in them. Other accessories can be used to secure larger items, such as a tile carrier.

How to choose an alarm backpack and what to pack in it

An alert backpack is different from a tactical backpack and from a hiking backpack. It includes several key elements:

  • A special molle system. It is designed for attaching certain equipment or holsters from the outside. They can be used to attach armour plates of protection class 5 and other items of similar dimensions.
  • Compression straps. Their main purpose is to compress certain clothes or certain types of equipment.
  • Hydrosystems. It is not so long ago that rucksacks started to be equipped with these systems on the outside. These systems, as well as compression straps, can be used to ensure the comfortable positioning of certain equipment.

An alert backpack should contain a list of items that you cannot do without. This list includes:

  • radios or receivers that run on batteries or rechargeable batteries;
  • several sets of batteries for the radios;
  • thermal blanket;
  • a spare set of clothes;
  • car keys and house keys;
  • first aid kit;
  • appetisers;
  • tablets designed for quality water purification.

In some cases, other items need to be included as part of an alarm backpack.
